|. I enjoyed working
with Bonnie when I
directed "State Fair"
for the Charlotte
Players. She took the
music that I had cut
and created exciting
and interesting dance
sequences that made
the musical numbers
come alive. I would
highly recommend her
to be your selected
for your production!"

Originally from Indianapolis, Bonnie’s early dance training included Ballet, Tap, and Tumbling later adding
Jazz and Polynesian, and eventually Ballroom Dancing. She began dancing as a specialty act with the
Jimmy Bennett Show (supper club band and show) at age 11, and was the assistant choreographer for
her high school productions of “Lil Abner” and “110 Degrees in the Shade”. (Choreography has been
her passion ever since.) She attended a half day of classes during her Senior year of high school,
while attending dance and music classes at Butler University’s Jordan School of Music,
as well as performing, choreographing and teaching dance locally.
In 1982, she moved to Florida, and joined the Suncoast Academy of Dance in St. Petersburg Fl,
buying the studio in 1989, was owner / director for an additional 11 years. Major studio events
included the opening of the Suncoast (Now Tropicana) Dome, The World’s Greatest Tap Assemblage I
and II, and the Junior Olympics Opening Ceremonies. During this time she also performed
professionally with several local bands, including The Impacs, and appeared in the opening acts for
G. David Howard, Foster Brooks, Ray Petersen and Lenny Dee.
She was the supporting actress / featured artist (vocalist, comedienne, dancer) as well as the
choreographer for “The Best of Burlesque – A Comedy Vaudeville” 1994-2004. The show starred “Miss
Armed Forces” Vietnam: Miss Sandy O’Hara, and Bonnie’s line of dancers, as well as a long list of talented
actor/comedians, including Bill Johnson and Emmy nominee and Broadway star Frank Gorshin.
She and her dance line also starred in several shows for Empress Cruise Lines, and in
“Home For The Holidays” (co-written by Bonnie with David Hansen) and she choreographed a season
of shows for Crystal Playhouse Dinner Theater including L’il Abner (directed by Broadway and
film star Peter Palmer.) Additional choreography and dancers were provided for
St Petersburg High School, Europa Fun Cruz, and Peter Palmer Productions.
After selling the St Pete Studio, She focused on performing and developing her tribute shows,
and on teaching Adult and Professional students. She moved to Bradenton Fl in 2001, and
expanded her That’s Dancing – Dance Ed for Adults program, which is still thriving.
The program teaches adults in Broadway Style Tap and Jazz, plus Polynesian Dancing, and does local
performances, as well as regional and national competition. These dancers hold multiple National Titles
in Tap, Musical Theatre and Jazz dance (Adult Competitive Division).
Bonnie is a certified Master of Balletone© Fitness and has been teaching Balletone© classes for Anytime
Fitness since 2012.
An award-winning choreographer in Tap Dance and Musical Theater, and adjudicator for auditions and
competitions, She choreographed for St. Petersburg Little Theater (winning a Best Choreography Award
for “Nunsense”), as well as Manatee Players “Quilters”, Charlotte Players “State Fair”,
Sarasota Players “Man Of La Mancha”, and provided her vocal talents as well as choreographed
dancers for “Saturday Night Out”. For the past several years Bonnie has continued to perform
her That’s Entertainment! Shows (USO Show Tributes, and Andrews Sisters Tributes,
and her solo tribute shows).
She is honored to have performed at the Clearwater Jazz Festival 25th Anniversary, The WWII 60th
Anniversary Celebration, the Philadelphia 9/11 Memorial Concert, and she is constantly looking for
work as a Supper Club entertainer, her first and most favorite job
